Villa Cerro Guido

DESTINATIONS

Villa Cerro Guido

Villa Cerro Guido is located in the municipality of Torres del Paine, in Última Esperanza Province, approximately 105 kilometers (65 miles) north of Puerto Natales, nestled between Torres del Paine National Park and the spectacular Sierra Baguales.

Villa Cerro Guido forms part of an important biological corridor, making it a key geographic area for the conservation of Patagonia’s unique biodiversity.

Here, the vast Patagonian steppe, the gentle rolling hills of Cerro Guido, and the striking formations of the Sierra Baguales create an extraordinary landscape. It is also home to Estancia Cerro Guido, a historic ranch that has preserved the ranching traditions and rural culture of the Magallanes Region for more than a century.

Its customs, music, traditional weaving, and rural way of life remain alive today, together with the estate’s original buildings, where visitors can experience what it was like to live and work in this vast and remote land more than one hundred years ago.

But Villa Cerro Guido is also home to remarkable treasures from the past. Here you can discover the remains of the region’s earliest inhabitants at the archaeological site on Cerro Guido, including a burial ground created by the Aónikenk, the first people to inhabit this land.

You can also delve into the area’s remarkable paleontological history, where fossils dating back millions of years have contributed to our understanding of the Earth’s geological evolution.

Cerro Guido is a hidden treasure where history, tradition, and nature come together—an unforgettable place to experience Patagonia’s cultural heritage, immerse yourself in its extraordinary landscapes, and gain a deeper appreciation for the conservation efforts that protect this unique corner of the world.
